Come to Vergas for a pancake feed and try out many different local syrups entered in this year's competition. Later visit Maplewood State Park for a syrup production demonstration at the Sugar Shack! This wknd is going to be fun. Also in this episode, hear the story of Tom Franklin from Vergas about his Mapletree tapping traditions and experience. Tom's family has lived in Lakes Country for many generations and his grandfather operated a lumber mill many years ago. It was a family tradition to tap Mapletrees on their land and gather for syrup production. He will share stories and explain how you can begin making syrup yourself.
